Štoutov - All Saints Church
Originally a Gothic parish church of All Saints in the first half of the 14th century, it stands on the site of the extinct medieval village of Bakov (Wakow) at the cemetery in solitary hillock At All Saints in the fields between the villages of Čichalov and Verušičky and northwest of the village Štoutov (Stadthöfen). Church could be said to be the first church in the whole former Žatec (Saaz) region. The views of some historians is that the church was founded before the year 973, however, this is not confirmed.
The local parish was founded in the time before the 1350s. In 1375 the local church was to become a filial church in Žlutice Deacon. The local parish is first mentioned in parish books in 1403 in connection with the exchange of benefits and records. During the Hussite wars (town Žlutice owned by Jakoubek of Vřesovice ) was in 1428 "Wokow" named as the mother church and Žlutice as a filial church. At this time, therefore it was the main Catholic church throughout the region. After the political situation calmed down, the importance shifted back to Žlutice.
The church cemetery is located, set up for the funerals of the dead from Kovářov, Skřipová, Čichalov and Štoutov. The local church was rebuilt several times in the past, last in 1928. After the forced displacement of the German population at the end of the Second World War, however, it ceased to serve its purpose, ceased to be maintained and gradually fell into disrepair. The interior of the church and the inventory during the second half of the 20th century was completely stolen or destroyed. The local cemetery is still a beautiful family tomb of the Štoutov family and an Iron Cross remains. Many other grave stones were thrown over the enclosing walls of the cemetery and broken. The church is currently owned by the Roman Catholic Church, but has no use for it. The church was in disrepair for years but has been partially reconstructed. A new roof was constructed in 2010 at a cost of 120.000, - CZK (cca 7000 $) from the subsidy programs of the Ministry of Culture.
Today the church interior is completely devastated, most internal sort was stolen or destroyed.
